Via WCSH6
Pinball was a real hit in Gorham this weekend. It was Pin-Maine-ia 4, the New England Pinball Championship. John Reuter held the event in his basement. He owns more than 100 pinball machines. About half of them are at his home. The rest are at friends’ houses. More than 50 people took part in this event, where the top prize was $375. The champion, Steven Bowden, says his real prize is the camaraderie of meeting fellow pinball players.
THE IFPA 7 Photo Set | Event Analysis

Yes, the word “THE” is in all caps on purpose because this photo set of the event by Mark Teskey is the only one that you really need to see.
Also, check out Jason “Crazy J” Rufer’s detailed analysis of the event posted on Pinball News. He gives his perspective on what it was like to host the IFPA 7 World Pinball Championship. Once again, I would like to thank Jason for all of his hard work, and for inviting us into his home for some world class pinball.

Pinball News’ Big Buck Hunter Review Part 2
Mar 13th
Pinball News has completed Part 2 of its detailed review of Big Buck Hunter. This time they take you through just about all of the games features and modes including the wizard mode (* SPOILERS*). How about that? A STERN game was released with a wizard mode ready for players to try to achieve. That’s right, I’m talking to you, Wheel of Fortune and Batman: Dark Knight.
This game is starting to grow on me. I’m already far away from hating it, as this game is nowhere near the atrociousness of Indiana Jones IV. However, it will certainly not replace Spider-Man as my favorite STERN game.
Pinball News covers Big Buck Hunter
Jan 21st
Pinball News provides coverage of the new Big Buck Hunter Pro pinball game from STERN, Inc. So far there are high res pictures of the playfield along with an introduction on the rules and features of the game. Keep this page on Pinball News bookmarked. As with previous Pinball News reviews, I expect that this initial coverage will soon be accompanied by recordings of the game’s sounds as well as a more detailed description of the game’s scoring features and modes. This game looks promising so far. Plus, this new pinball game is a natural compliment for any bar/amusement area that already has a Big Buck Hunter light gun arcade game.

Bowen Kerins interviewed by Fox 25 News Boston
Bowen Kerins dominated the World Pinball Championship in London two weeks ago. It was his second straight championship. His winnings: $1,100 in cash and a new pinball machine for his Salem condo.
“Each year, PAPA operates the largest, most competitive pinball tournament held anywhere in the world, bringing approximately five hundred players and spectators from around the world to enjoy four solid days of brutal pinball battles. And, of course, to have a flipping good time!”

“(Bowen Kerins) still one of the greatest pinball wizards in the world, and he proved that last weekend in England by winning the World Pinball Championship for the second year in a row.”

Tips for better pinball play
Multiple time world pinball champion, Bowen K. was clearly misquoted here in this article. Tilting the machine can be part of pinball play, if by tilting you mean shaking it in ways that fall short of actually tilting the machine.
