Yes, it’s especially strange that Paperboy was counted as a shooter on a major shmup forum’s list of greatest shooters, even though I believe it received one vote.

A quick note to the managers of these stores (this one store?), your employees are bored! Maybe this is manager approved. Or even better, maybe the managerial staff is personally responsible for this. It had to be store employees because no ordinary customer could sneakily build this without getting caught immediately. I hope these displays brought massive amounts of new customers to the store. I know i would shop more at a store that had built this. It looks light they “tightened up those graphics” for this year’s version (above) over last year’s effort.
Billy Mitchell Regains Donkey Kong World Record

A new high score record is made public by Twin Galaxies. Billy Mitchell’s score of 1,062,800 points passes Hank Chien’s record score of 1,061,700 points for Donkey Kong. To make matters more interesting for those keeping score at home, Billy also became the new Donkey Kong Jr. champ with a score of 1,270,900. Both scores were verified live at Boomers-Grand Prix Arcade in Florida by veteran Twin Galaxies referees Todd Rogers and Morning Dove Mahoney.
Congratulations, Billy.

The whole game takes obvious influence from Gradius, Castlevania or R-Type, but also from other classics treated worse by the time: Turrican, Enforcer, Space Manbow, Hellfire, Guardian, Hydefos, Armalyte and many others…
